Tomorrow, we are getting up bright and early and heading to the surgery center with Lauren. We have to be there at 7:15 for her 8:15 tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy. It should be an eventful day. Based on what the doctor and others who have had the surgery have said, we are expecting her to be in quite a bit of pain for several days.
To prepare her for surgery, Grammy made pajamas for her and her American Girl doll. She was so excited to get a surprise package in the mail!!
Practicing her "my throat hurts" face.
Your prayers are appreciated.
~Prayers for her peace.
~Prayers for no complications.
~Prayers for a quick recovery.
You are the 2nd friend I know this week who is having a child go through this specific surgery! I had my tonsils out just after Moriah was born, and it was 3 weeks of recovery. It was bad, but I hear that kids do a lot better recovery-wise. Also- I was on antibiotics 7 times the year before the tonsils coming out. I have been on them 2 times since then (that's 2 times in 6 years) so a HUGE difference for my health! Praying for you!

ReplyDeleteMy daughter had same surgein J It was pretty tough for abt 10 days. Lots of sleep + almost constant sipping/drinking are sososo important...we did best with ice water. She lost quite a bit of weight & we had to dig deep to get through a few times. Now she is much healthier, sleeps so much better...it was worth it even tho' very hard.
