40th Bday in KY

We spent my 40th Bday in KY with family.  It actually became a Birthday Week with the grand finale of a trip for Rick and me to the beach.  I will share more about that in the next post.  My time with family was filled with lots of yummy food, laughs, and gifts.  Those 3 things totally speak love to me.  Let me tell you, I felt really loved.

2 days before my bday, Rick's mom took us out to a Mexican restaurant
Not only did they sing, put a hat on my head, bring me dessert,
but, much to my surprise, they also put whipped cream on my face!
The kids thought this was hilarious, especially Isaiah.
When we left, he went to the workers and said, "Thank so much for doing that to my mom!"
I woke up on the big day to a family breakfast prepared by Rick and the kids.
Next up, my mom took me out for a pedicure.
This is truly one of my favorite relaxing treats!
 Drying the polish
My hot pink "beach ready" toes!
Then, Cody took me out to lunch.
It was really special to have some one-on-one time with my oldest.
 He paid for our lunch
The afternoon was relaxing, just hanging out at the house.  I ended up reading a book and watching some TV(my parents have cable!).
For dinner, we went to a KY favorite, Cracker Barrel.
Sweet Tea and Chicken N' Dumplins, mmm, mmm good!
Then it was back to my parents' house for DQ Chocolate Extreme Ice Cream Cake
Lots to show for these 40 years!
I have known this man for 23 of those 40 years!
Almost 18 years of marriage and I love him more every day!
 Mama and Daddy
I haven't had the opportunity to spend many bdays with them over the last 18 years.
Then, the whole family showered me with gifts of treats and money.  I will spare you those pics.

Cody made a video for me as his gift.
It made me cry!
There is a lot to show for these 40 years.  I wouldn't go back.  I wouldn't change them.  I am who I am because of the last 40 years of my life.  I enter my 41st year ready to take on 40 more!!  Watch out world, I am just getting started!
