So Much To Share

We have had quite the week around here. The kids were out of school last week, and we were scurrying around doing our last-minute Christmas shopping, Christmas baking, present wrapping, and snow playing. Before I can even share about our weekend Christmas festivities, I have to catch up on all the events of last week.

Our holiday baking was in full swing.
Lauren and I made Peppermint Snowball Cookies

Sam and I made Chocolate Chip Cookies

Laila and Isaiah helped me to make the sugar cookie dough
for our annual decorating contest.
Cody and I made chocolate truffles

Abby and I made fudge

It works so much better for me to bake with them individually. It is less chaotic, less messy, and I get some one-on-one time with each child. The bonus is that we have all of our baking done with lots of treats to enjoy throughout the rest of Christmas break.

We had 2 pretty good snows last week. The result: Lots of time outside playing in the snow!!
Abby was a snowball making machine!
Laila catching snowflakes on her tongue!
Lauren and Abby made a snow fort with a tiny snowman
The next pics are random funny things from our week. We like to laugh around here.
Isaiah as James Brown, "I feel good!"
A reminder of Africa in my tortilla
Isaiah spent a lot of time in the time-out chair.
This is a new "ornament" on our tree this year. It is actually a ball that Cody put a hook in. I laugh every time I walk past it.
It says, "Evergreen Rehabilitation"
Cody added, "Mom's Special Time, 2010"
I am pretty sure this place is for physical therapy, but it is funnier to imagine that it is a different kind of "rehab." There are some days I feel I might need to go to rehab for "special time."
Earlier in the month, we had some Christmas concerts to attend. Abby had a piano recital/open house. It started with some yummy food to enjoy!
Abby introducing her two songs, "Silent Night" and "Jingle Bells"
She played perfectly and is really enjoying learning to play piano
Cody had a 7th grade choir concert
He got all "decked" out for the night
This month has been a whirlwind. Maybe that is why I have pretty much crashed the last couple of days recovering, reading, relaxing, and resting. Rick went back to work today. Boo! We are spending today hanging out at home enjoying our time off and the fact that we don't have to be anywhere. I absolutely love lazy mornings!!

  1. I LOVED all the pix you posted. I know behavior issues aren't funny, but Isaiah's dramatic time-out chair picture is funny. As far as the Christmas tree ornament? Still laughing. So funny!
