7 Years of Energy

Once again, our Christmas season was highlighted with Isaiah's Birthday exactly one week before Christmas on Dec. 18.  I always said I wouldn't have a baby in December.  Then, we adopted Isaiah and Laila.  I laughed and maybe even cried a little when I saw his birthdate!!  I feel bad for him.  It is a crazy time of year.  I know we could do a half Birthday, but we just really want to celebrate when it is his Birthday.  That is part of who he is and part of his story.  So, I am determined, in the midst of the craziness, to take that day and make it just as special as any other Birthday celebrated in our house.
He came downstairs to the Birthday chair that morning
He didn't know he was getting a bigger kid carseat.  That was his first surprise.
Rick always gives the kids candy on their brays
His very own box of cereal!!
He had school on his bday.  He wanted a big cookie to share with the class.  Laila and I went during his lunch time.
Mrs. Davis is such a great teacher!!
He also requested Burger King for his bday lunch.
It was so sweet, he shared with Laila.
That night, we had a spaghetti dinner at his request.  Then, it was gift time!!
Laila got him a claw
Lauren got him some "Grow" capsules with dinosaurs in them
Cody got him gummy worms
Sam gave him a Ninja sword
Abby gave him a Spiderman chalkboard
The grand finale' was opening his gift from Papa and Grammy:  Super Mario Bros. for Wii
He also got some money from Grandma and His Aunt Kimberly and Uncle Andrew.
I just love seeing him look at Rick in this pic as we sing "Happy Birthday" to him.
He has plenty of hot air to blow out candles!!
Since it was not his year for a friend party, he chose going to the movies as a family as his Birthday activity.  The weather was perfect for the movie that he chose.
Can you guess what it was?
Frozen.
We all LOVED it!!
Afterwards, we had a some "Chikin" for lunch!
7 years old!!  I really can't believe it.  What a journey it has been.  Isaiah, I watch how you captivate peoples' hearts, and I know that there are big things in store for your life.  You are so full of life and energy and passion and sometimes stubbornness.  It is exhausting, really, but I wouldn't change you for anything.  I know God has purpose in every way that He has created you.  I have loved watching you become a reader this year.  I look forward to helping you in this next year to find what you are passionate about(besides TV and video games) and giving you opportunities to pursue those passions.  I am so proud of you for working so hard to learn self-control, especially at school.  You have grown by leaps and bounds over the first half of this school year.  I am praying you will take that passion that God has given you and channel it towards serving Him and fulfilling His calling for your life.  I am pretty sure it is a big one!!  You have forever changed our family, and I am pretty sure you just might change the world!!

I love you, buddy,
Mom
