The Big Day

There it is. The anticipation is killing me. I can't believe how excited I am about a new dishwasher. Washing and drying dishes by hand stinks. I am all done with that.

I am so proud of my hubby. He researched to find the best dishwasher and the best value. He even found a video on YouTube that shows how to install it. So, it is sitting in our garage. He is going to install it this afternoon. I have a load of dishes waiting to be loaded and cleaned.

Woohoo!!!!

Sweetness to my day

I just have to say, Dark Chocolate Lindor Truffles make my day a little sweeter. If you haven't tried them, you really should.

Crumbs on the Floor

I just looked at my kitchen floor. I think there might be enough food on it to feed a meal to our whole family. Yum!!

I should probably go sweep, now.

No Dishwasher - Day 2

Dishwasher still is not working. If you look at my kitchen, it is very obvious. I realize I can wash dishes by hand, but this messes with my system that I have developed with the kids of loading and unloading and keeping up with the dishes.

I tried to run the dishwasher again just to see if our issue was a fluke. No such luck. It still has a ton of water in the bottom. We are hoping to get a new one this weekend. Until then, I am going to tackle the dishes the old fashioned way.

Anybody have any dishwasher shopping tips? I have never shopped for one so I want to make sure I get a good one!!

Dishwasher Distress

If you have been reading my blog, you might remember an entry a while back about loading and unloading the dishwasher. Our dishwasher is OLD. As far as we know, it is original to the house(house was built in '93, I think). So, we woke up this morning to our dishwasher, that was supposed to run while we are sleeping(by the way, that is the only time my husband will allow me to run it because it is so loud) with 3 inches of water in the bottom of it. I believe it has finally died or it is at least protesting. So, looks like we may be making a purchase. It's one of those things that you have to spend your money on, but don't really want to. I kind of feel like that dishwasher some days, overworked, old, and unable to continue.

I don't know about you, but I can't go very long without a dishwasher. I run it 1-2 times every day. On the bright side, with a new dishwasher, I might not have to "clean" my dishes before I load them. Maybe I can actually leave some food smears without having to worry about them being dirty when I open it to unload.

I will keep you posted. If I do get a dishwasher, it will be my first ever new dishwasher!! Exciting stuff, people. I know you are all on the edges of your seats as you read about my life.

First Day Success

I just love this little guy. I picked him up from school today for his first "official" day of Kindergarten. Yesterday was just meeting his teacher and dropping off his supplies.



Here is the conversation we had:
Me: How was your first day of school?

Sam: It was great! I didn't get sent to the principal's office, not even once.



So, there you have it. I wasn't really concerned about that, but obviously he was.

A Proclamation

Yesterday, I was driving in the truck with Isaiah, Laila, and Sam. From the back, where he sits, Sam proclaimed to me, "Mom, I like my brother now." This is a huge deal. He has always been drawn to Laila, but he and Isaiah have had their moments. It was touch and go for a while there, but I am glad to announce that Sam has decided he likes having a little brother. For that I am thankful.
